I thought I’d share my Sunday morning news with the rest of you. Originally, this particular work of mine wasn’t going to be published (or posted online) until tomorrow, but with “cyber magic”, it’s already online today!

For anyone interested in reading my latest MedHunters article, One Last Good-bye, zip on down the cyber highway and check it out.

MedHunters magazine
is a great market for any medical, health issues, surgery-related, or even death-related stories you may have up your sleeve. Simply check out some of the stories they’ve already published and you’ll notice when you come to the end of these pieces, there is an email address for submissions.

So, what are you waiting for? Feel free to take a peek at my non-fiction piece and then get busy brainstorming for your own. Write, polish, and submit to the email address provided! Good luck with your submissions and by all means, when they’re accepted let me know so I can celebrate with you!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and may the new week bring much success writing the cyber highway!

      Hi Michele,

Congratulations on another great story sale. The Last Good-bye is sad but very touching. I’m glad your dear Papa came to say good bye. And glad that you shared the story with the world!

Your muse is keeping you busy!

      Fondly always,

      Renie

      Hi Renie,

Thanks so much! Yes, you’re right. The Last Good-bye is sad, but sometimes life is sad and truth is sad. But it had a happy ending ;0) I was able to say good-bye to Papa after all!

Yes, I’ve danced a lot lately with my muse… And, I feel truly blessed!

      Smiles,
      Michele

    3. Misti Sandefur, Novelist/Freelance Writer Says:

Thanks for the touching story, Michele. I enjoyed it.

On another note — and if you don’t mind sharing — could you please tell me how much MedHunters pays for stories?

    4. Michele Says:

      Hi Misti,

Thanks for your kind words! I appreciate the compliment ;0)

As for how much MedHunters pays? Well, from what I know, they pay on an editor/writer basis according to the length, etc. of the story. So, I really have no way of knowing how much they might pay you (or anyone else).

I would say they are fair and I don’t have anything to complain about. Sorry I can’t be more specific ;’( I do hope you decide to submit to them!

      Smiles,
      Michele

Thank you, Deborah! Yes, MedHunters is a great site with tons of good stories. One could read for hours ;0)

Renie has an article there, too, and another one coming I do believe. Here’s the link to hers:

      Michelle,

Thank you!! Your story was very touching and I truly appreciate it!! I’m going to try and submit an idea soon. I’ve not done it before but want to give it a shot, so I’m still doing the research! Thanks for the encouragement, and setting a path.

      Hi Mary,

I’m glad you enjoyed my last good-bye to my Papa! It was a blessing I’ll always treasure ;0)

If you’re going to submit to MedHunters, go ahead and submit your essay instead of just a query. Also, give it time. You may not hear from them for months. It takes a long time for these things (editors have a LOT of submissions, phone calls, emails, etc., to wade through). Don’t think they’re ignoring you, they’re just really busy people…

I really appreciate your compliments and kind words and wish you the best as you begin your writing journey!

      Blessings & Smiles,
      Michele

      Michele,

A powerful and uplifting story. I know you will miss your Papa, but he is Home now. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week.

    10. Michele Says:

      Hi Mary,

Thank you for your encouraging words. Actually, One Last Good-bye took place in June of 2000, so it’s a little easier to talk/write about thus the reason I was able to put it into words. Writing and remembering a lost loved one is comforting/therapeutic I believe ;0)

You have a great week as well!

      Smiles,
      Michele

      Michele,

I answered your post on my blog over there, but just wanted to say that I also write about loved ones who have departed and I also find it very therapeutic.

      Hi Mary,

I’m glad you find healing in writing about deceased loved ones, too.
