If you’re looking to increase your freelance writing income, you’ll probably enjoy following Mridu Khullar’s advice. Don’t tell me you don’t know who Mridu Khullar is! Ok, so you really don’t know? You’ve never heard of her? Have you been living in a cave? Ok, that was a little harsh of me *sorry!* For those of you who really don’t know who she is, Mridu Khullar is a very successful, international freelance journalist from New Delhi, India. She’s currently working in Accra, Ghana. Her impressive portfolio includes publishing credits with Elle, Time, Parade, Writer’s Digest, and more. She knows what she’s talking about people!
Mridu has decided to turn May into a month of marketing. What does this mean for us? It means that we can follow her e-course, which she’s generously offering for free! She’s already started posting the lessons.
- AMOM Day 1: Update Your Writing Portfolio
- AMOM Day 2: Letters of Introduction
- AMOM Day 3: Check in With Your Regulars
I think this is a wonderful opportunity. Readers can learn from her wisdom and experience. She’s kindly giving us a sneak peek into how she has successfully marketed herself so we’ll know what to do to get ourselves out there, make more sales, and add more publishing credits to our portfolio. Don’t forget to keep your eyes open for new lessons!
Thanks, Mridu!
Enjoy the lessons. I’m sure they’ll help you keep writing the cyber highway!

Hi Michelle,
Yes, it’s true–I’ve been living in a cave. Since I can’t sleep I might as well spend and hour or two working on a Letter of Introduction. I’ve been working on a Freelance Writing site and finishing Linda Formichelli’s class on Magazine Writing–so this should be a fantastic addition to my aresenal of secret weapons.
Thanks for the great tip!
blessings,
julia

Hi Michelle,
You are tooooooo funny! Be it noted that I do not look like Sophia Loren, or was it Raquel Welch, in that horrible caveman movie from the 60’s. I’m more of The Three Stooges meet Wilma Flintsone kinda girl.
Yum….pumpkin salad dressing:

Thanks for the great tip this morning! For those of us that are sleep depraved you’re a welcome light in the storm. Even though I can’t spell arsenal at 2:30 AM.

*giggles* I try to make folks laugh and/or smile whenever I can!
Three Stooges and Wilma Flinstone… you’re hilarious!
You are right! That pumpkin salad dressing sounds delish! Thanks for the link!
You’re most welcome for the tip. It’s really Mridu we should thank–for sharing her writer’s brain with us.
Oh, Julia, now you’re going to make me cry! ….welcome light in the storm? I couldn’t ask for a more beautiful phrase to be written about myself!
*blushes*
*reaches for tissue*
*tries to compose herself*
Don’t worry about your spelling. I never even noticed, honestly! I had to go back and read your comment again after you pointed it out. Then I noticed. We’re all only human, Julia. Everyone misspells things sometimes. No big deal.
Anyway, you’ve made my day with your sweet compliment! I’m honored to be that light in the storm for anyone I can, and I’m especially grateful you feel that way!
Remember, I’ve survived domestic violence, surgeries, and lots more. I know what pain is. I know what it’s like to go without sleep (because of physical pain and a haunting past) and I genuinely have empathy for anyone going through those things. One thing you can count on… there’s always a rainbow after the storm. Just keep watching for it!
