WordPress: Our New Home

We have a new home (a big thanks to Goofy Girl Designs!). Clap your hands everybody!

See, we still have the same vibrant header. You should feel right at home! Kick your shoes off and stay awhile. Help me break my new home in. 
Yes, I’ve talked about it, teased about it, flirted with it, and now it’s time to actually do it–move to WordPress, that is! Yes, we’re moved in and just have a few last finishing touches to complete. This blog’s new home is on the other side of the cyber highway. You know that big ole stretch of country called WordPress. The grass is greener over on this side, I hear. Thought it was high time to find out if it was true!
I’m still figuring everything out, but I’m actually loving it so far. Don’t forget our new address. Subscribe to my feed so you can find out what’s happening in our new neighborhood….

YAY! Congratulations on making the move. Things are already looking great over here. Give me a shout if you need any help ‘figuring everything out’. Don’t forget some very vital plugins. The most important at this point is the one that lets your readers follow/subscribe to comments.
And is your entrecard widget going to return?

Oh, I am working trying to ‘figure everything out’, that’s for sure! I’ll try to get the “subscribe to comments” plugin going today. I also apologize for the moderated comments. It was set up that way and I haven’t figured out how to open them up yet. Thanks for offering to help. I may just have to take you up on that if I get stuck.
Entrecard? I’ll probably move it on over here. I haven’t decided what all I’m moving over yet.

Yes, it’s kind of challenging. I’m just so nosy I had to find out what it’s like on this side of the cyber highway. So far, although I’ve had a couple of headaches and had to use the cucumber treatment on my eyes a few times, I’m loving my new home.

The new blog looks good! I am trying to figure out how to move my old content from my old blogger address to my new wordpress address. Was it difficult to do?

Did you have old Blogger or the new version? If you have the new, all you have to do to start the importer, is go to your WordPress Dashboard and click on Manage ? Import ? Blogger and follow the directions. It transports all the blog posts and comments in just a jiffy! It’s neat.

I’m excited to be here. I’m just blindly feeling my way around in the dark, stubbing my toe on all sorts of bulky furniture I’m not used to. *giggles*
Sorry about the moderated comments. I haven’t figured out how to open them up yet…. I’m working on everything and will have things smoothed out soon. I’m trying to focus on adding the extra pages, but I don’t have them polished yet.

I see you survived the move, but I’m sure you’ll be unpacking for a while.
Maybe one day I’ll move Life of a Writer to Wordpress. I’ve thought about it many times, but I’m afraid I’d lose the RSS subscribers I have, which is still growing. Other things such as how hard it is and etc. weighs on my mind as well. Do let me know how the move goes for you in a few months. I’d love to know how many subscribers followed you to your new home if nothing else. You can e-mail me the info if you like.
By the way, I updated my RSS reader with your new address.

Yes, I’m alive and still “unpacking”.
Well, I’m learning a lot as I go along and I must say as far as posting and arranging everything, I’m in blogging heaven. I’m not as tech savvy as most so some of this has been a little difficult to figure out/understand but I’d make the move again in a heartbeat. It’s pretty great on this side of the cyber highway! I especially love the simple things, like how the little smiley faces appear in the comments! *giggles*
I’ll let you know how things go from here. Hopefully my readers will follow me. *fingers crossed*
