UPDATE: The Write from Home Website has now merged with the blog. The e-zine and its archived articles are no longer available.

Write-from-home.com’s October e-zine edition has arrived! My article: “How to Uncover Those Hidden Writer’s Guidelines”, is right below Susan Johnston’s article, “Break in With Front-of-Book Pieces”. A third article follows, “Going for the Knockout Punch-line!” by Nadia Ali.

Susan makes excellent points in her piece about FOBs, and Nadia gives awesome information for any of you out there wanting to write for greeting cards. As for me, I was honored to have another of my articles published in the Write-from-Home.com e-zine.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: “Run over and read the writer’s guidelines. Amy Derby is an awesome editor to work with/for, and her site pays well ($75.00 for original, unpublished articles and $30.00 for reprints)!”

Pull over, take a break from writing the cyber highway, and read the Write-from-Home.com e-zine–you’ll be glad you did!

Here’s the book I refer to in my article: The American Directory of Writer’s Guidelines. With this book, you’re sure to find droves of markets to submit to.

Happy writing the cyber highway!

As I’ve skipped down the cyber highway visiting my favorite writer-related blogs, I’ve noticed a theme among a few of them. In their recent posts, they’ve had book recommendations. I thought I’d bring a couple of those here so you can check them out as well.

Rebecca Laffar-Smith wrote about Seven Steps on the Writer’s Path: The Journey from Frustration to Fulfillment by Lynn Lott and Nancy Pickard, on her blog, The Writer’s Round-About. She makes excellent points as to why a writer needs this book. Check out her post!

As I continued to make my way down the cyber highway, making pit stops at my blogs of choice, I dropped by Becca’s Byline. In her Write On Wednesday-Coming Alive post, Becca shared about her new copy of Foolsgold: Making Something from Nothing and Freeing Your Creative Process by Susan G. Woolridge. Hurry over to Becca’s Byline for a breath of fresh air and her thoughts on a book you may decide you just must have!

Now, for my own small contribution. Grammatically Correct by Anne Stilman is a little book I love to keep around. Follow the link to my own post, and you may decide to add it to your writer’s reference library as well!

Adding these three books to your bookshelf will help you be more successful and confident as you write the cyber highway!

I’m loving this book! I’ve had it for a while now, and refer to it when I need to. Some of the stuff is basic English, but a lot of it is really interesting and is a great help if you have problems with punctuation or grammar.

    This book has five parts:

    *Spelling
    *Problem Words
    *Punctuation
    *Grammar
    *Style

It is 328 pages long and is crammed full of awesome information. For instance, you’ll learn when and how to use serial commas, colons, semi-colons, etc. There are loads of examples and it’s very easy to understand. So, what are you waiting for? Open a new tab, cyber shop, and order your copy… today!!

Grammatically Correct: The Writer’s Essential Guide to Punctuation, Spelling, Style, Usage and Grammar will definitely help you continue writing the cyber highway!
